The 8U Mite and 6U In-House players generally practice 1-2 days a week with 1 game on weekends. All games are in the local metro area so no overnight trips, no hotels. The season begins in October and runs through early March. Official start date for will be communicated via emails as the season approaches.
The 8U Mite teams will have the opportunity to attend 2-3 tournaments during the season. These tournaments may have an overnight hotel stay involved depending on where the tournament is being played.
8U Mite through 14U Bantam seasons (including girls-only teams) begin with pre-season skills sessions in early- to mid-September followed by tryouts in early October with practices beginning immediately after tryouts. The season ends by mid-March.
Each skater and potential coach must register with USA Hockey and will be assessed a fee commensurate the participants age (ranging from $15-$70 for the 2022-2023 season). See USA Hockey Online Registration for more information. Registration with USA Hockey must be completed prior to EYHA registration.
Fees will be assessed at the time of registration. Payments are applied towards your families' total fees. They can also be mailed to EYHA via U.S. Postal Service at:

EYHA asks each participant's family to volunteer time, talents, or resources to assist in operating our organization. Each family is assessed a Volunteer Commitment Fee upon registration. This fee is due by January 1 if credits have not been earned and recorded prior to then. For families with a player at the 10U Squirt, 12U Peewee, and 14U Bantam level, 10 volunteer credits or $400 are assessed (5 volunteer credits or $200 for 8U Mite & 6U/8U In-House).

Similar to EYHA's volunteer commitment fee, a $100 Fundraising Commitment Fee is assessed on the initial invoice & is credited back at the end of the season IF the family's fundraising quota has been met.
These fees vary by age group due to each age group having different costs for practice ice, game ice, referees, and tournaments. Typical ice fees range from $900 for 8U Mite to $2,200 for 14U Bantam level. These ice fees include a budget for team tournaments and off-ice / dryland practices. Individual teams may incur additional costs for tournaments, travel, or other activities aside from EYHA's fees. Members may choose between three (3) payment schedules: paid in full at registration, pay in full by November 1, or equal monthly payments due the 1st of Aug-Dec. If a family needs to make special arrangements for payment, you are asked to contact the Treasurer in writing to set up a mutually-agreed upon payment plan.
