COACHING INFORMATION — 2026–2027 SEASON

Anyone wishing to coach for Elmbrook Youth Hockey must register prior to any on‑ice activities.

Applying for a coaching position does not guarantee placement on a team. All applicants will go through a review process before any team placement (if any).

EYHA Coach Requirements

• Age: 18+
• Must register with USA Hockey prior to applying to be a coach.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must meet all CEP certification requirements by required dates.

USA Hockey Requirements

• USA Hockey coach registration (before stepping on ice)
• CEP clinic at the appropriate level (by December 31st)
• Age-specific module for the level you’re coaching (before coaching team)
• SafeSport training (annual - before stepping on ice)
• Background screening (every two years - before stepping on ice)

WAHA Enforcement

• No on‑ice or bench participation until all certifications are complete
• No temporary or provisional coaching passes
• Coaches cannot be rostered until all requirements are met
• Associations must remove non‑compliant coaches from practices or games

EYHA Reimbursement Policy

EYHA will reimburse all members who complete the required coaching certifications, even if they are not ultimately selected to coach this season. If you take the time to complete the above steps, EYHA will cover those costs as part of our commitment to developing future coaches.

Recommended Timeline

• July–August: SafeSport and background check
• August–September: CEP clinic and age-specific module
• Before tryouts: Confirm everything shows “Complete” in your USA Hockey profile
